With the 59th pick of the 2023 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills selected guard O’Cyrus Torrence out of Florida.
Torrence was thought to be the best interior offensive lineman in the draft by many, and he was widely projected to go toward the end of the first round. He committed zero penalties in 2022 and has allowed zero sacks in over 1,500 career pass-blocking snaps. The second-round steal garnered an immediate A+ grade from Bleacher Report.
Offense has been the theme for the Bills so far in the 2023 draft. Before drafting O’Cyrus Torrence, Buffalo drafted tight end Dalton Kincaid with the 25th overall pick.
Offensive line has been a priority this offseason after having one of the lowest performing fronts in the league last season. Through free agency, Buffalo also signed Connor McGovern and David Edwards — two starting-caliber guards.
Torrence will battle Ryan Bates for a starting spot at guard, and suddenly a weakness of the team in 2022 looks to be a strength heading into 2023.
