The Bills announced today that they’ve reached an agreement on a contract extension with tight end Dawson Knox. The 4-year, $53.6M extension now makes Knox a top-5 paid tight end in the league.

The extension comes on the heels of Knox’s breakout 2021 season where he caught nine touchdowns (eight of them coming in the red zone) and had 49 catches (more than double his 2020 output).

Knox was set to become a free agent after the season and a probable franchise tag candidate for 2023. The extension makes sense, as his chemistry and friendship with quarterback Josh Allen proved too important for the front office to overlook. He’s now tied to the Bills through 2026 instead of dragging a looming deal into next offseason.
