The Buffalo Bills announced the signing of two roster additions on Tuesday, running back Darrynton Evans and tight end Jace Sternberger.
The addition of Darrynton Evans comes on the heels of Nyheim Hines’s placement on the season ending Injured Reserve.
Evans, 25 years old out of Appalachian State, was drafted by the Titans in the 3rd round (93rd overall) of the 2020 draft and spent two years in Tennessee before signing with the Bears in 2022.
In 12 total games, Darrynton Evans has 196 total yards from scrimmage and one touchdown. He comes into Bills training camp behind James Cook, Damian Harris, Lativius Murray and Jordan Mimms on the depth chart.
Tight End, Jace Sternberger, adds training camp depth to a tight end room that features Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid, Quentin Morris and Joel Wilson. Nick Guggemos was released.
The 4-year veteran out of Texas A&M, Sternberger, was drafted in the 3rd round (75th overall) of the 2019 draft hasn’t seen playing time since the 2020 season with the Packers.
In two seasons with Green Bay, Sternberger caught 12 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown.
Jace Sternberger played for the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL in 2023.
