The Buffalo Bills signed defensive tackle Poona Ford to a one-year deal, the team announced on Tuesday.
A five-year veteran, Ford had played his entire career with the Seahawks who signed him as an undrafted free agent after the 2018 NFL Draft from the University of Texas.
Poona Ford will provide some much-needed defensive line depth for a Bills defense that likes to rotate between four defensive tackles on gameday. He will join veterans Daquan Jones, Ed Oliver, Tim Settle and Jordan Phillips in the position group.
Ford had a down year in last year per PFF, with an overall grade of 56.2 in 2022, but from 2019 to 2021 his average PFF grade was 76.1.
Except for his rookie season, where he appeared in eleven games with one start; Poona Ford has started 63 of 65 games over the past four seasons and proved to be a durable asset on the Seattle defensive front.
Per Tom Pelissero, Ford turned down other team’s offers of more money to “try to win a ring in Buffalo.”
