Kirksey, a 9-year veteran, was released by the Texans on Monday after starting 29 out of 30 games for them over the past two seasons.
Though he had a 56.1 PFF grade in 2022, the signing of Kirksey is an immediate improvement at the Bills middle-linebacker position, which has been perhaps their most questionable position heading into the 2023 season after Tremaine Edmunds left for the Bears this offseason.
Christian Kirksey is a great signing for the #Bills. Kirksey is a proven veteran at 30 years old and was a good leader for the #Texans.

Christian Kirksey will compete with Terrel Bernard and Tyrel Dodson for the Bills starting middle-linebacker spot opposite of outside-linebacker, Matt Milano.
Cleveland drafted Christian Kirksey in the 3rd round (71st pick overall) of the 2014 draft out of the University of Iowa. He would go on to play six seasons with the Browns, starting 54 games over that time.
Kirksey signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2020, starting 11 games, before coming to the Texans in 2021.
