The 27-year-old Sherfield, a five-year veteran who was undrafted out of Vanderbilt, played the WR3 role for the Dolphins last season behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. He had the best season of his career for Miami, posting 30 receptions for 417 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The 6’1″, 210-pound Sherfield can play the slot and the traditional wide receiver position and adds yards after the catch ability to a Bills team that has made YAC a priority this offseason (see the signing of Deonte Harty last week).

He had one of Miami’s eight 20+ mph TDs, per @NextGenStats, the only one not by someone named Waddle or Hill.

To add to Sherfield’s wide receiver ability, he was also PFF’s highest graded blocking receiver last year and was a contributor to the Dolphins’ special teams.

He also played about half the Dolphins special teams snaps.
Think Jake Kumerow but with maybe a bit more potential as a pass catcher.
It is presumed that Sherfield will battle with Khalil Shakir for the slot role with the Bills behind Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.
Sherfield was open with the media in his introductory press conference on Monday, saying that he was hoping to be back in Miami, but when that fell apart, the opportunity to join the Bills was too great to look past. Listen to what Sherfield said here.
