It was announced Thursday by multiple sources that the Chicago Bears are trading wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills for a second-round pick.

The eight-year veteran, Moore, was targeted only 85 times in 2025—the lowest since his rookie season in Carolina. His 682 receiving yards on 50 receptions were also career-lows.
Moore started all 17 games in 2025 and his production decline can be attributed to the ample Bears receiving corps. Moore’s target share with the Bears fell from 26.5% in 2024 to 15.9% in 2025 due to added weapons to their offense.
For those who are questioning DJ Moore’s reception and yardage production in 2025…

Yes, his 682 receiving yards and 50 receptions are the lowest of his 8-year career, BUT you have to consider that Moore’s target share was significantly lower than at any point of his career… pic.twitter.com/tEHyRZ3tEi
The Buffalo Bills have been looking for a bona fide WR1 since the departure of Stefon Diggs after the 2023 season.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane attempted to remedy the wide receiver situation after the 2024 season by adding Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore. Both receivers would prove to be ineffective for the Bills as Palmer was injury prone and Moore was released by the Bills after nine games.
Moore, drafted 24th overall by the Panthers in 2018, played under offensive coordinator Joe Brady for two years (2020-2021) and he went over 1,100 receiving yards both of those years.
In his three seasons with the Bears (2023-25), Moore averaged 1,004 receiving yards, 81 receptions and six touchdowns per year.
