The Buffalo Bills went into Baltimore and were taken down by the Ravens by a score of 35-10 on Sunday night.

The Bills only put up three points in the first half and a touchdown in the second half while the Ravens were unstoppable from start to finish. The Bills failed to get anything going all game long and ultimately failed to conquer the Ravens. The Bills’ record dropped to 3-1 as they remain atop the AFC East.

The good

Josh Allen’s efforts

While Josh Allen’s efforts were not nearly enough to win the game for Buffalo, he did what he could with what he was given. Allen finished the game with only 180 passing yards and went 16-for-29 passing (73.9 passer rating). Allen improvised out of the pocket more than he should have and did not look comfortable from start to finish. Allen tried his best to connect with his receivers and when he could not, he took it on his own. Allen carried the ball 5 times for 21 total rushing yards.

Khalil Shakir

Khalil Shakir was the bright spot in a lackluster group of wide receiver play. Shakir has made it into the record books, catching 28 consecutive passes thrown his way. Shakir fought his way open from start to finish trying to make himself dependable for Allen. Early in the third quarter, Shakir found separation downfield, and Allen fired a rocket his way for a big play.

Keon Coleman

Keon Coleman started off with a dropped target which was not a good look for the rookie wide receiver. Coleman bounced back with two consecutive big catches along the sideline and regained the trust of not only Allen but his teammates and coaches.

The bad

Offensive line

The Bills’ offensive line was lacking in pass protection all game long. Quarterback Josh Allen did not look comfortable at all in the pocket and seemed to be running away from oncoming defenders all game.

The Bills offensive line gave up three total sacks and eight total quarterback hits. This is the most that the Bills offensive line has given up since the start of the season.

James Cook

Running back James Cook did not have a good game. Cook was held back by the Ravens defense and stayed stagnant. Cook finished the night with nine carries for a total of 39 rushing yards. Through the air Cook had one reception for nine yards.

Joe Brady

Joe Brady had his worst play-calling game of the season in Week 4 against Baltimore’s tough defense. Brady tried many play calls repeatedly that were not executed properly, such as screen passes or inside runs.

Brady’s trick play call in the third quarter proved to be a bad idea. The play resulted in a turnover and stalled any momentum the Bills had going into the second half.

Tyler Bass

Tyler Bass missed a field goal which could have put the Bills within 13 points. Bass went 1-for-2 on his field goal attempts and 1-for-1 on his extra point attempt.

Defense

The Buffalo Bills defense got ripped apart by Derrick Henry and Baltimore’s tough offense. The first play of the game for the Ravens was a Derrick Henry 87-yard rushing touchdown.

Buffalo could not keep Henry under control all game long. He finished the night with 24 carries for 199 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Through the air Henry had three receptions for 10 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
