My, how the 2025 season has turned for the Buffalo Bills.
At one point this season, the Bills were 4-0 and obtaining the AFC’s number one seed wasn’t a matter of if, but when.
The Bills fell from the fifth seed to the seventh seed this past weekend—giving them four egregious losses in their last seven games.

Buffalo’s new focus should start with simply making the playoffs.
There are several teams that the Bills are rooting for to lose this upcoming weekend to help them with AFC playoff positioning.
Obviously, the Bills need to beat a Steelers team who is currently in the eighth seed. If the Steelers win on Sunday, they would overtake the Bills for the seventh seed.
Here are the teams Bills fans should be rooting for in order of prevalence this weekend:
Giants (+7.5) over Patriots
No, the AFC East race isn’t over yet. An unlikely Patriots loss to the Giants would give the Bills the ability to “control their own destiny” in regard to taking back the AFC East and guaranteeing a home playoff game.
Titans (+6.5) over Jaguars
Winning the AFC East is unlikely. The focus now for the Bills is simply making the playoffs. The Jaguars currently hold the sixth AFC seed and a loss would likely put them on the outside, looking in.
Colts (-4.5) over Texans
The Texans now have a tie-breaker against the Bills should their records end the same. They are currently sitting in the ninth AFC seed with CJ Stroud looking to return. Normally, the Bills would want the Colts (8-3) to lose for top-4 seeding purposes, but with the number one seed all but gone, the Texans losing would be bigger for the Bills.
Raiders (+10.5) over Chargers
The Chargers currently have the same record as the Bills but their conference record (6-2) is the tie-breaker over the Bills (4-3), which is why the Chargers are sitting at the fifth seed versus and the Bills at seventh.
Cowboys (+3) over Chiefs
The Chiefs were able to sneak out a win versus the Colts last week, moving them to 6-5 and keeping them in the hunt. A loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving would be a serious blow to the Chiefs playoff chances.
Bengals (+7) over Ravens
The Ravens have taken back the AFC North and are looking to solidify their chances of winning the division—giving them a home game in the playoffs. The Bengals need to win out to have a chance to make the playoffs. It starts Thursday versus the Ravens.
Commanders (+7.5) over Broncos
Earlier in the season, we were rooting for teams with equal-to or better-than records to lose, but now that the number one seed isn’t the Bills’ primary focus, a Broncos win would almost cement them into the AFC West crown, meaning that it wouldn’t go to the Chiefs and no playoff games likely in Kansas City.
