Buffalo Bills rooting interests in Week 16

NFL: Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

Once again, the Buffalo Bills won in dramatic fashion, coming from 21 points down to beat the New England Patriots in Week 15.

Although the win improved the Bills’ record to 10-4, it didn’t change their position in the AFC playoff picture. They remain the sixth seed in the conference.

However, the Bills’ win over the Patriots kept their hopes of winning the AFC East alive.

There are several teams the Bills are rooting for to lose this upcoming weekend. Obviously, a Bills win versus the Browns would help Buffalo the most.

Here are the teams that Bills fans should be rooting for in order of prevalence this weekend:

Ravens (-3) over Patriots
The Bills’ win over Patriots last weekend kept Buffalo’s hopes of winning the AFC East alive for at least another week. A Patriots loss Sunday to the Ravens would be welcome by all Bills fans as the Pats need to lose two of their last three games OR lose to the Dolphins or the Jets before Buffalo has a chance of retaining their division crown.

Jaguars (+3.5) over Broncos
It sounds far-fetched, but the Bills still have a shot at the number one seed. The scenario includes Denver losing two of their last three games, starting with Sunday’s game versus Jacksonville.

Cowboys (-2.5) over Chargers
The Chargers currently sit in the fifth AFC playoff spot, one ahead of Buffalo.

Raiders (+14) over Texans
A loss for the Texans, who sit in the seventh and final AFC playoff spot, would move them to 9-6 and would make their playoff hopes murky. If you recall, Houston’s defense was a significant issue for the Bills offense in Week 12 and they are a team no Bills fan wants to see in January.

Steelers (+7) over Lions
Only one team from the AFC North will make the playoffs and I think all of Bills Mafia would agree that they’d rather the Steelers win the division than the Ravens.

49ers (-6) over Colts
The Colts (8-6) are currently on the outside looking in terms of the last wild card spot. They trail the Texans who hold down the final spot.
