Wide receiver Curtis Samuel had Bills media and fans in attendance buzzing after his impressive play on day two of Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University.

The Buffalo Bills made an enticing move this offseason by signing the veteran Samuel to a three-year contract worth $24 million. Samuel had one of his best seasons in Carolina under offensive coordinator Joe Brady in 2020, and today we saw him truly excel for the first time in Buffalo with Brady. It didn’t take long to get in sync with quarterback Josh Allen.

Samuel has shown out so far in the first two days of training camp and very well could be the Bills number one receiver this upcoming season due to Stefon Diggs’ departure. Brady lined Samuel up at running back a couple of times on day two of camp, which both resulted in a catch.

Allen and Samuel connected multiple times during team practice, one of which was a 25-yard catch downfield.

A trending word going around for Samuel on day two is “explosive” and for good reason. The 27-year-old veteran has shown great speed paired with strong hands. His run after the catch ability could be a game breaker for the Bills in 2024.

During Khalil Shakir’s post-practice press conference, he praised Samuel’s impressive day, saying, “Get the ball in his hands and special things are going to happen.”

After Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid showed out on day one, and Samuel stepping up to the plate on day two, perhaps it’s Shakir’s turn next. The more threats the Bills have on offense in 2024 the harder they will be to stop. To see newcomers making important plays on the first couple days is a good sign for the team moving forward.
