The Bills have gone through some major changes this offseason. They have gone away from relying on veterans that they are used to relying on in multiple areas of the field, and instead they are trusting upon many different younger players. All the changes have paved the way for a handful of guys to make a more significant impact than they have in the past. Listed below are the top five players I’ll be watching closely this training camp because of what they have to offer the Bills in 2024.

1. Connor McGovern

A move to center makes McGovern the linchpin of the offensive line in 2024, which puts him at the top of my list. Communication and chemistry with Josh Allen will be a major key to the Bills success this year and moving forward. It appears on the surface that McGovern is up to the task and his friendship with Allen off the field should help the tandem work in lockstep in 2024. If McGovern can become a younger version of the reliable center that Mitch Morse was, the Bills offense will have a solid foundation.

2. Dalton Kincaid

Expected to be the leader in targets this season, Kincaid will need to build on his production from his rookie year and add more trips to the end zone in his sophomore campaign. The combination of physicality with the ball in his hands and nuanced route running gives me reason to “billieve” that Kincaid will emerge as a top 3 TE in the NFL in 2024.

3. Matt Milano

A return to form for Matt Milano will be critical to the effectiveness and ultimate success of the Bills defense in 2024. The trio of Terrel Bernard, Milano and Taron Johnson allows Sean McDermott to call an aggressive defense, and if Milano is able to return to form, all three could perform at an all-pro level in 2024.

4. James Cook

The versatility of Cook will play a major role in defining how dynamic the Bills offense can be. Cook was a very effective rusher in 2023, but he will need to earn the trust of the coaching staff to stay relevant in the passing game as well. We know Cook is dynamic with the ball in his hands and his usage in the passing game will be something to monitor in 2024.

5. Keon Coleman

The de facto first round pick for the Bills in 2024, Coleman will be heavily watched from the day one of training camp. I am predicting that he becomes a bigger asset after the bye week when he’s had time on task in NFL regular season games, but a fast start will only help propel the offense ahead of schedule. With the amount of opportunities that may be available, Coleman could be a legitimate candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024.
