Former Bills quarterback, Jim Kelly tugged at the heartstrings of a dismayed Bills Mafia audience today via Instagram.
The Hall of Famer quarterback, who addressed “Josh, the team, and anyone else struggling in life” put the recent Buffalo Bills football team’s struggles on the field in perspective and relayed to his audience how he stayed positive after all the 63-year old has been through in his life.
Kelly goes on to state, “How do I stay positive and keep going. One of the ways is I focus on the people around me who love me no matter what, like my family and friends.”
Addressing Bills Mafia, Kelly states, “We need each other to get through and persevere. When we are down is not the time to give up, it’s the time to stand up for each other, and help each other. That’s what the Buffalo community and Bills Mafia does.”
Finally, Jim Kelly has a message to current Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, “Josh, you’re one hell of an athlete, football player and leader. Even better than I was. You’ve got a ton of talent and you will succeed. This setback will fuel your ability to fight harder and lead with even more determination and passion. And you’re not alone! You’ve got an entire community pulling for you.”
Kelly ends his IG post with a “Let’s GO BUFFALO!!”
Kelly’s message comes just two days after the Bills lost another heartbreaking game, this time to the Broncos, putting them at 5-5 and putting their playoff chances in doubt.
The Bills were projected to make another Super Bowl run this season.
If you’re unaware of Jim Kelly’s story outside of football; he lost a son to Krabbe disease at the age of 8 and was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a form of cancer, in his upper jaw in 2013 only to see it go in and out of remission since. Kelly has been “cancer free” since 2018.
