This has happened four times in Bills history. THREE of them by Josh Allen.#BillsMafia
Once upon a time, passing for 4,000 yards was an impressive milestone for a quarterback in the NFL. Although the feat isn’t as meaningful as it once was (happened 38 times before 2000 and it’s already happened 174 times after 2000), it is significant for a Bills quarterback because it’s now only been accomplished four times in the Buffalo Bills’ 62-year history—three times by Josh Allen and once by Drew Bledsoe in 2002.
Josh Allen became the 6th quarterback to throw for 4000 yards this season.

Allen posted just 3,089 passing yards in 2019 before taking a big step forward and rattling off three consecutive years of over 4k passing yards. In 2020 he set a single-season team record with 4,544 yards, in 2021 he posted 4,407 passing yards, and through 15 games this year, Allen has 4,029 yards. He’ll need to average 258 yards per game over the team’s last two games to break his 2020 single-season team record of 4,544 passing yards.
On Monday Night, Allen will be facing Joe Burrow, who is second in the NFL in passing yards with 4,260. The other four quarterbacks to reach the 4k mark already this season are Patrick Mahomes (4,720), Justin Herbert (4,254), Tom Brady (4,178), and Kirk Cousins (4,117).
The leading receivers who have helped Allen reach 4,000 yards already this year are Stefon Diggs (1,325 yards), Gabe Davis (797), Dawson Knox (504), and Isaiah McKenzie (404).
