Derrick Harmon was one of the top high school prospects coming out of Michigan, ranking as high as 18 by ESPN.com. He started his career at Michigan State, playing for three years before transferring to Oregon as a redshirt junior. This past season at Oregon was terrific for Harmon. He was named to the All-Big 10 Third-Team and solidified himself as one of the top defensive tackles in this year’s NFL Draft.
Harmon finished the 2024 season with 45 totals tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. He added two forced fumbles and three passes defended to show he can be disruptive against the run while getting his hands in the way of passes. He had a great day at the combine in addition to a great season, so he should climb up some draft boards.
Derrick Harmon is projected to be a late first-round selection in the draft and should be in the range for the Bills. Whether they trade up for him or he falls to them at pick 30, I’d heavily expect him to be on their radar. I have a late first-round grade on Harmon after his terrific junior season.
Derrick Harmon next to Ed Oliver would open things up for the Bills. Oliver would be able to play more one-on-one while Harmon eats up double teams. This would simultaneously open up lanes for the linebackers to go and make plays. This would be a home run pick at 30 in my eyes.
