Fullback Reggie Gilliam signed a two-year extension on Sunday and is now under contract with the Bills through the 2024 season. The deal is worth up to $5.2 million.
Gilliam signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2020 as an undrafted free agent from Toledo.
Gilliam isn’t your old-fashioned fullback. Since joining the team in 2020, he has done it all for the Bills. He’s played fullback, tight end, running back, and has also helped out all over the field on special teams.
Gilliam played in 14 games in 2020 and 16 games in 2021. In 2020 Gilliam had 2 receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown and in 2021 he had 3 receptions for 23 yards and 3 rushes for 3 yards. Although he doesn’t appear as a difference maker on the stat sheet, he was surely a difference maker as a run blocker, especially at the end of last season. Check out his work as a lead blocker on this Devin Singletary TD from last postseason:
Gilliam was due to be a free agent after the upcoming season, and the extension took him by surprise.
