The football gods were good to the Bills last NFL weekend. A Bills win along with losses by Miami, Pittsburg, Indianapolis and Houston helped solidify Buffalo’s ability to control their own destiny. They now also have a legitimate shot of winning the AFC East with Miami having the NFL’s toughest four games.
Although the Bills are still technically the 11th seed in the AFC, there’s a decent shot at them moving up to the 3rd Wild Card team with a win and some help this weekend.
Here are the outcomes the fans should be rooting for this weekend along with a Bills win over Dallas:
Steelers (6) OVER Colts (7)
Titans OVER Texans (8)
Lions OVER Broncos (9)
Vikings OVER Bengals (10)
Including the Bills, there are SIX 7-6 teams contending for the 6th and 7th seed. Bills fans should be rooting for the Texans, Broncos and Bengals to lose. Also, the Colts have a more favorable schedule than the Steelers, so if one of those teams is going to win, let’s make it the Steelers.
Bears OVER Browns (5)
Somehow, the Browns have an 8-5 record. A loss would still put them in decent shape for the stretch run, but Bills fans should be rooting for it nevertheless.
Patriots OVER Chiefs (3)
Although it’s highly unlikely to happen, the Patriots beating the Chiefs would put the Chiefs at 8-6 and leave their AFC West championship in jeopardy with a Broncos win.
Ravens (1) OVER Jaguars (4)
Someone is going to get the #1 AFC Seed and it likely won’t be the Bills. Wouldn’t you rather see the AFC go through Baltimore than Kansas City? Me too.
