With the 60th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected safety Cole Bishop out of Utah.
Cole Bishop is a 6’2″, 206 lbs. safety out of the University of Utah. He ran a 4.45 second 40-yard dash and has a 39″ vertical. He was a three year starter and earned himself a second-team All-Pac-12 Conference honor. In 2023, he started 10 games finishing with 60 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss with three sacks, two interceptions, three pass break ups, and a forced fumble. He was also named team captain.
Bishop is an aggressive safety that excels in the run game. He had a 67.5 run defense grade and a 60.9 coverage grade for the Utes. While he will need to work on his pursuit of the football, he never takes a play off and anticipates developing plays well. Cole could become that leader in the secondary and the perfect replacement for Micah Hyde. Sean McDermott will have fun developing Cole Bishop into the future at the safety position.
