With the 168th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected defensive end Javon Solomon out of Troy University.
Javon Solomon is a 6’1″, 246 lbs. edge rusher from Tallahassee, Florida. He ran a 4.72 second 40-yard dash to go along with 23 reps on the bench press. His final season at Troy was terrific. He led the FBS with 16 sacks and tied for sixth with 18 tackles for loss. Those numbers along with three forced fumbles earned him first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
Solomon was very productive in his college career and is very quick off the line of scrimmage. His motor never stops and is very good at reading plays. What he lacks in size, he makes up for with his athleticism. He’ll have to be creative in his pass rush ways due to his size, but already has a great menu of moves. Javon Solomon has the potential to be a solid starter.
