The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins in a close, back-and-forth game in Week 9, 30-27, after a game-winning 61-yard field goal from Tyler Bass.
The Bills got off to a slow start in the first half, only putting up six points to the Dolphins’ 10. Buffalo turned it around in the second half, putting up 14 points in the third quarter and another 10 points in the fourth quarter.
The Bills have further cushioned their position in the AFC East with a record of 7-2. Up next, Buffalo will take on a struggling Colts team in Indianapolis at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday.
The Good
Josh Allen
Josh Allen had a great game, especially in the second half. Out of the half, Allen led the Bills on an 11-play, 64-yard scoring drive that ended with a touchdown pass to receiver Mack Hollins. Allen finished the game 25/39 for 235 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, along with an interception in the second quarter. On the ground, Allen only took the ball himself twice for seven yards. He had a great game and led the Bills to an imperfect win.
Ray Davis
Rookie running back Ray Davis had a phenomenal game through the air and on the ground. Davis had only four total carries for 20 rushing yards. Through the air is where Davis excelled and showed his ability to change the turnout of a game. Davis had just two catches on two targets for 70-yards and a receiving touchdown. Davis took a Josh Allen dump off for a 63-yard receiving touchdown and switched the momentum while giving the Bills the lead.
Greg Rousseau
Greg Rousseau was a force on the defensive side of the ball all game long. Rousseau finished the game with four tackles, one sack, and three tackles for loss. Rousseau was a key part of the Bills defense on Sunday and was a wrecking ball off the edge.
Tyler Bass
Tyler Bass has been on the receiving end of negative feedback in the past few weeks from Bills fans that are distraught from the lack of production. Sunday, Bass changed the negative feedback into positive after he hit a game-winning, 61-yard field goal. Bass drilled one from deep with 10 seconds left in the game to win it.
The Bad
Keon Coleman
Rookie receiver Keon Coleman had himself one of his lesser performances of the season. Coleman finished Sunday with one reception for a total of 21 receiving yards. Coleman was only targeted twice this game yet one of them led to an interception. Josh Allen threw a rope to Coleman’s chest, it bounced off his chest, causing the ball to be intercepted by Miami’s Jalen Ramsey.
Containing Devon Achane
The Bills defense could not slow down Devon Achane all game. Achane finished the game with 12 carries for 63 total rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Through the air, Achane had 8 receptions for 58 total receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Achane had over 120 yards altogether. Achane was a huge reason why the game was as close as it was.
