The Buffalo Bills suffered another crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship on Sunday night.
A win would have sent the team to the Super Bowl for the first time in 31 years, but alas, the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs are returning for the third year in a row.
Many called this a “legacy game” for Josh Allen, who led the Bills to an AFC Championship game in 2020, but since have had early exits each year in the playoffs—four times to the Chiefs.
Allen, who completed his seventh season in 2024 has had quite the regular season resume. The Bills offense has been a dominant force in the league since Allen’s breakthrough 2020 season.
His playoff resume has been incredible too—holding the record for most total yards and total touchdowns per game in NFL history.
Although the numbers have been historic, after completing his age 28 season many wonder if Allen will ever bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo.
Allen and the Bills’ situation is very similar to that of Peyton Manning and the Colts of the early-2000s.
You know Manning’s resume, but if you remember, his first seven seasons were full of frustration for Manning and Colts fans.
Like Allen, Manning was a perennial MVP candidate, and like the Bills, the Colts were regular playoff contenders—only to be knocked out early season after season.

Manning is considered a top-five all-time NFL quarterback. He put up incredible passing statistics, won five MVPs, and is a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
He had to wait nine seasons to reach the Super Bowl.
Josh Allen, when it’s all said and done, may overtake Peyton Manning on the NFL’s list of all-time quarterbacks.
Allen is only 28 and probably has another 10 seasons in his prime.
Manning overcame Brady. Allen will overcome Mahomes.
