NFL: Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins

Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

It was announced Wednesday morning by Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz that the Buffalo Bills are bringing back All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer.

Poyer will join the Bills practice squad.

Poyer is joining a safety room that features veterans Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin and first and second-year players Jordan Hancock and Cole Bishop.

Poyer is entering his 13th season after turning 34 in April and it’s been no secret throughout the league that his on-field ability has declined over the past two seasons.

His experience in the Sean McDermott and Bobby Babich defensive scheme in itself is a good reason to take Poyer as a flyer as he can play a big role in helping the young Bills safety room.

Poyer, who spent seven seasons with the Bills from 2017-2023, played in 16 games with the Dolphins in 2024.

A first-team All-Pro in 2021, Poyer played a significant role in a Bills defense that consistently placed in the top-10 in points and yards.
