Built In Buffalo writers and contributors weigh in on the Bills’ Week 8 matchup against Green Bay

It’s a high-profile quarterback matchup with Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers, and their two teams are playing on opposite levels right now. The Bills are 5-1 and playing at a high level on both sides of the ball while the Packers are 3-4 and trying to find an answer. Find our predictions for the game below and let us know what your prediction is for the primetime matchup.

Matt Homan: Except for an extremely hot Miami Sunday, EVERYTHING has been going well for the Bills so far this season and I don’t see the momentum stopping this Sunday night when the struggling Green Bay Packers come into town.
The Packers come into this game with an offense uncharacteristically ranked in the bottom third of the league in points scored and total yardage. The well-rested, top-ranked Bills defense will look to exploit this and the game might get out of hand if Green Bay can’t put points on the board early.
The Bills offense (also top-ranked) will have a bit more of a challenge this week with a Packers defense that comes into Sunday’s game best in the league against the pass, but 27th in the league against the running game. Look for the Bills to get Devin Singletary going early as they did against the Chiefs. If the Bills can keep the Packers secondary honest, look for Josh Allen to exploit them as he has everyone else. Prediction: Bills 38, Packers 20.

Kam Towle: The Packers are coming into this primetime game as double-digit underdogs, and I think there’s two major reasons for that. The Bills are the best team in football right now and GB is lacking any real threat on the outside. The Bills should be able to hold off a Packers team with no Allen Lazard or Randall Cobb and Sean McDermott is not only is sitting at the top of the AFC right now, but he’s 5-0 coming off a bye as a head coach. The Packers run defense has struggled so I think the Bills control the game in that sense, and Allen picks his spots to attack downfield efficiently. The Bills defense should control Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon on the ground, forcing Rodgers into third and longs with not many options to throw to. Rodgers will make his share of plays but the Bills will do enough to control the game. Prediction: Bills 31, Packers 16.

Ben Morningstar: The Bills come back home fresh off the bye week to welcome in Aaron Rodgers and a struggling Packers team. This is the first time Rodgers has ever been a double-digit underdog before and it comes courtesy of our Buffalo Bills. I think the Bills keep rolling against this team and, with Lazard out for the Packers, I think they struggle to generate much offense. The Bills are firing on all cylinders and this could get away from the Packers. Rodgers will have to throw to keep up and I think that favors the Bills. I like the Bills winning this one and covering the 11 points as well. Prediction: Bills 30, Packers 17.

Daniel Adams: The Bills look to come off of the bye week with a big win against the Packers. The Packers have some brutal losses on the year including the Giants, Jets, and Commanders. Green Bay has good pieces but on the offensive side of the ball the Packers are lacking at the receiver position. The Bills will be able to hold the Packers offense in check all game long and keep them from scoring on multiple drives. The Bills will be on fire against the Packers and score at will. The Bills will be led by Josh Allen and the passing game (nothing new…) and the defense should perform well too. Dawson Knox should be more involved this week after he got his first touchdown on the season last week. We should expect the Bills to dominate a poor Packers team and move to 6-1 and continue to lead the AFC with the best record. Prediction: Bills 35, Packers 17.
