The Bills activated cornerback Tre’Davious White from the PUP list on Monday, the team announced. White has been sidelined since November of 2021 when he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving vs. the Saints.

Today, head coach Sean McDermott wouldn’t declare White as in or out for this week’s divisional game against the Jets.

The Bills drafted cornerback Kaiir Elam in the first round in the 2022 NFL draft to help them with the holes at corner due to the absence of White. Dane Jackson, Kaiir Elam, and Christian Benford all held their own and helped the Bills get to 6-1 while leading the league in fewest points allowed.

Tre White being activated might have been the most impactful transaction around the trade deadline. White will push the Bills even further towards a Super Bowl by holding the cornerback one spot and mentoring the younger corners that will play opposite him. White played 11 games in 2021 before getting injured, totaling 41 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, and 6 passes defended.

The Bills drafted White back in 2017 in the first round of the NFL draft. He has played 72 games in his career and has recorded 279 tackles, 3 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 16 interceptions, and 60 passes defended. He helped the Bills get out of the drought and has performed at a very high level for his entire career.

Tre White will help the Bills in a big way when he returns to action due largely to all of the injuries in the secondary. Micah Hyde is out for the season, cornerbacks Dane Jackson and Christian Benford have missed time with injury, and Jordan Poyer has been dinged up since training camp.

How do you think Tre’Davious White will do when he returns to action?
