The former All-Pro cornerback has slowly worked his way back from his ACL tear and is now playing meaningful snaps again as the Bills enter the home stretch of their season

Tre White is officially back!

After seeing less than a quarter of the snaps versus the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, White played 61% of total defensive plays (33 total snaps) Thursday night against the Patriots. He trailed just Xavier Rhodes (47 snaps) in snaps from Bills cornerbacks in the win. White’s 33 snaps was more than double the amount he played on Thanksgiving in his first action in a calendar year.

White’s presence was immediately felt by a Bills secondary that has struggled as of late. He was targeted 4 times, surrendering 3 catches for 21 yards and only 5 yards after the catch.

Though it’s a small sample size, in Tre White’s limited play this season, his 70.7 PFF grade is higher than any other Bills cornerback. With games versus Miami and Cincinnati, and a playoff run looming, the return of Tre White couldn’t have come at a better time for the Bills.

Next on the to-do list for White is to continue on his snap trajectory when the Bills host the Jets this Sunday. One thing to monitor in the game is how much action White sees lined up with rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who has recently blossomed in the Jets passing game.
