3 offensive tackles Bills could target in the draft

The Buffalo Bills offensive line struggled tremendously this past season. They weren’t able to keep Josh Allen protected consistently and even had trouble run blocking. The Bills offensive line ranked 23rd out of 32 NFL teams according to PFF, and they seemingly got worse as the season progressed. The Bills’ biggest current concern on the offensive line is the right tackle spot due to the lack of Spencer Brown’s development through two seasons as a pro.

These tackle prospects could help this offense run more efficiently:

Anton Harrison – Oklahoma

Anton Harrison is a top five tackle in this year’s draft class. Harrison shows great movement and length in pass protection, and because of this, he has a chance of going in round one. Harrison also ran a 4.98 40-yard dash at this year’s NFL combine to further show his great movement ability.

Harrison stands at 6’ 5”, weighs 315 pounds and enters the draft after his junior season.

Harrison played left tackle for the Sooners in his college career but may be able to switch over to right tackle and help protect Josh Allen in pass protection. Harrison could be taken in round one by Buffalo and help solidify the Bills offensive line.  

Dawand Jones – Ohio State

Dawand Jones is one of the biggest college prospects in this year’s draft. Jones set a new record recently, having the longest wingspan in senior bowl history (89.5 inches). His play at the senior bowl boosted his draft stock. Jones has great movement for a player of his size and shows great strength in the run game and great awareness in the pass.

Jones would be a good fit for the Bills as he would add great size to the right side of the Bills offensive line. He could probably be taken in the second or third round and compete with opposing defensive lines that have size and speed with the amount of ground he covers.

Darnell Wright – Tennessee

Darnell Wright is a highly scouted tackle prospect in this year’s NFL draft. Many scouts and NFL analysts have Wright going in the first and some others have him dropping to the second round. Wright shows great technique and strength and has experience at both right and left tackle. 

Wright, at 6’ 6” and 335 pounds, enters the draft as a senior after playing for the Volunteers from 2019 to 2022. Like Jones, Wright showed out at the senior bowl and impressed scouts.

Darnell Wright would be a good fit for the Bills. He could be plugged in at either tackle position and be able to produce in a pass-heavy offense.
