Bills add safety depth, ink Taylor Rapp to one-year deal

It was announced Monday that the Buffalo Bills signed safety Taylor Rapp to a one-year deal.

Rapp, a four-year veteran out of Washington, was drafted in the second round of the 2019 draft by the LA Rams and started 48 of 57 games including 33 games over the past two seasons.

PFF graded Taylor Rapp favorably in 2022. His 76.2 grade ranked 34^th of 94 eligible safeties and would have been the highest safety grade on the Bills roster last year.

The addition of the 26-year-old to the Bills safety unit comes after a 2022 season that saw former All-Pros Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer miss significant time due to injury. It’s clear that the Bills front office wasn’t comfortable with the depth at safety and the addition of Rapp gives the Bills a bonafide starting safety should Hyde or Poyer miss time again in 2023.
