Rookie LB Dorian Williams Executes in First Preseason Game

Rookie linebacker Dorian Williams led the Bills in tackles in their first preseason game of the season.  Williams was a third round draft pick, selected to help fill in the gaps on the defense and add depth behind OLB Matt Milano.

The Tulane graduate was known for his speed and awareness on the field in college, totaling 126 tackles in his final season.  His camp performance was notable, but his application on game day was what showed the “all gas, no brakes” side of Williams that needed to be seen. 

Bills’ assistant head coach Eric Washington noted Williams’ performance on Saturday showed “…his instincts, the ability to burst quickly” and said “…it was an environment that suited his personality”.

The physicality of Williams will be something to watch during the remaining preseason games.  Being able to move quickly, accurately, and without hesitation is the key.  If he continues to be explosive and lead in tackles, he could very well be a huge part of the Bills’ defense this season.
