Future Buffalo Bills: Three Prospects to Keep Your Eye On -

The Buffalo Bills are on a bye this week, so it’s the perfect time to start looking at potential targets for the upcoming draft. The Bills will, most likely, have ten picks in this upcoming draft with plenty of holes to fill for the 2024 season. They could go in a couple of different directions so we’ll take a look at a few of the potential players that could be Bills in a few months.

S Tyler Nubin – Minnesota

The Bills have questions to answer when it comes to both safety spots next season. Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde will both be 33 at the start of next season, and we don’t know if either will be back. They’ve been the backbone of the defense for the Bills for years, and it’s time to find their replacements.

Tyler Nubin is a 6’2″, 210 lbs. safety for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He’ll be 22-years old on draft night and is a very versatile safety. He can play both safety positions and is effective in all areas of the game. His 70.2 PFF run defense grade and 90.7 PFF coverage grade are just two indicators of his ability to do it all.

WR Keon Coleman – Florida State

Coleman is a fan favorite already for Bills Mafia and he isn’t on the team, yet. Wide Receiver has been a complicated position for the Bills over the years but it’s time to find your future Stefon Diggs replacement. With Gabe Davis needing a new contract and a deep wide receiver class this year, the Bills will need to grab another weapon for Josh Allen.

The Florida State Seminole is a 6’4″, 215 lbs. wideout that can line up in the slot and out wide. He’ll be 20-years old on draft night and can do it all. According to PFF, Coleman has only dropped one pass in 2023, while having a career drop percentage of 3.4%. We know he is a fantastic receiver as his PFF receiving grade is a 72.9. Although, he can also block in the run game as he ends his regular season with a 68.3 run blocking grade. He’s got speed, size, and skill to leave any general manager speechless.

DT T’Vondre Sweat – Texas

The Buffalo Bills currently have one defensive tackle signed for next season. Just one. It will be interesting to see which direction Brandon Beane decides to go at this position. They could bring back DaQuan Jones or draft a new partner for Ed Oliver. Both are realistic possibilities and there are some solid prospects for that position this year.

T’Vondre Sweat comes in at 6’4″ and 362 lbs. for the Texas Longhorns. He can play 3T or 1T doing a little bit of everything. He thrives the most in the run game as he has a 92.0 rush defense grade, via PFF, but can also be effective rushing the passer. His pass rush grade, in 2023, is 84.9 as he had two sacks and 28 total pressures. DaQuan Jones is only getting older so the Bills could look to bring in some youth to line up next to Ed Oliver.
