Bills vs Chiefs AFC Divisional: The Good and The Bad 

The Bills fell short to the Chiefs once again in the AFC Divisional Round. The Bills scored 24 points to the Chiefs 27 in a game that came down to a game tying kick that was missed wide right by Tyler Bass.

The Good 

Josh Allen

Josh Allen lost another close game to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. Allen played a good game both on the ground and through the air. Allen was 26/39 passing and threw for 186 yards and 1 touchdown. 

On the ground Josh Allen ran the ball 12 times for 72 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. 

First Half Offense

The Buffalo Bills first half offense seemed to have things figured out when it came to moving the ball and controlling the clock. The Bills scored 17 points in the first half against the Chiefs defense and seemed to have had the run game figured out. 

Khalil Shakir 

Kahlil Shakir seemed to be one of the few bright spots in the Bills offense all night long. Shakir made big play after big play and is a big reason the Bills had success not only in this game, but many games down the stretch this season. 

Shakir finished the game with 7 receptions for 44 yards and 1 touchdown. 

Dalton Kincaid 

Dalton Kincaid had a good final rookie season game by leading the Bills in receiving yards last night with 45 on 5 receptions. Kincaid is going to be a great tight end for the Bills for years to come. 

Tyrel Dodson 

Tyrel Dodson led the Bills defense in terms of tackling with 8 and solo tackles with 7. Dodson also had 1 tackle for loss. 

Jordan Poyer 

Jordan Poyer was another player on the defense that played well, finishing with 8 tackles and 5 solo tackles.

The Bad 

Sean McDermott/Defense

The Bills defense was clearly banged up going into this game yet there are no excuses when it comes to the NFL, it’s next man up. The Bills did not deliver on defense and couldn’t stop Patrick Mahomes when the offense needed them to. 

Buffalo allowed 27 points, 215 passing yards, and 146 rushing yards. The Bills defense didn’t get to Mahomes at all in the loss, recording 0 sacks. 

Second Half Offense

The Bills offense seemed to have fallen flat in the second half of the game. The Bills scored a touchdown in the second half but that was it, compared to the first half where they put up 17 and were moving the ball with relative ease. 

Stefon Diggs 

Stefon Diggs dropped a crucial ball that would have resulted in a touchdown and could have given the Bills a lot of momentum. Diggs has been a non-factor since Joe Brady took over as the offensive coordinator yet they started to win games. 

Diggs finished the game with 2 receptions for 21 yards. 

James Cook

James Cook did well on the ground in the first half but in the second half was getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage and dropped a pass in the red zone that could have resulted in a touchdown. 

James Cook had 18 carries for 61 yards. 

Tyler Bass

Tyler Bass missed a crucial field goal wide right of the uprights with 1:47 left on the clock that would have tied the game at 27. Bass has been shaky as of recently and missed more field goals than Bills fans are used to seeing. This one stings…
