The Buffalo Bills crushed the Cleveland Browns on the road, 31-7, to improve to 2-0 this preseason.

QB Kyle Allen
Kyle Allen had a great day, solidifying his QB2 spot on the Bills roster. Allen played the first half against Cleveland, finishing with 10 completions on 12 attempts, 128 passing yards and a touchdown. Allen had some of the cleanest throws of the day, placing his passes right on target. He had a great two-minute drive at the end of the first half where he went 4-for-4 with 62 passing yards and a touchdown.

WR Ja’Mori Maclin
The biggest winner of the day was undrafted free agent receiver out of Kentucky Ja’Mori Maclin. Maclin finished the game with only two receptions but made the most out of them. He hauled in a 37-yard reception from Allen in the first half which moved Buffalo into Cleveland territory. Later in the third quarter, Maclin caught a pass from Shane Buechele before turning it up field for a 71-yard touchdown, displaying his run after catch ability. Maclin finished the day with two receptions for 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.

WR Trent Sherfield Sr.
Veteran receiver Trent Sherfield made some nice plays today for Buffalo. Sherfield finished with four receptions going for 54 yards, displaying his reliable hands.
RB Ian Wheeler
Ian Wheeler continues to be a workhorse running back this preseason for Buffalo. Wheeler stood out on Thursday in Buffalo’s joint practice with Cleveland, and looked good today. Wheeler finished with 14 carries for 56 yards, also getting involved in the pass game with 2 catches for 21 yards.
CB Kani Walker
Another great showing for the undrafted free agent corner out of Arkansas. Walker finished the game with three total tackles along with a pass break up. Walker continues to build on his success in camp and his preseason week one interception.
DB Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock is becoming a versatile piece for Jim Leonahard’s defense. Last preseason game Hancock played mostly nickel corner, Leonhard said he wanted to see him play some safety and he held his own. Hancock finished with two tackles and a great pass break up on 3rd down to force a Cleveland punt.
S Damar Hamlin
Damar Hamlin had a great day today at safety, making the defensive play of the game, intercepting a Shedeur Sanders pass that was tipped. Hamlin has proven himself worthy of a safety spot behind CJ Gardner-Johnson and Cole Bishop. Hamlin finished with five total tackles, a pass break up, and an interception.

Punter competition
Both Bills punters finally saw action today as Buffalo punted four times. Rookie punter Tommy Doman Jr. had three punts today with a 43-yard average, two of which were inside the 20. Veteran punter Mitch Wishnowsky only punted once for Buffalo, but sent it 59 yards. The Bills will continue to work both at punter and holder in hopes of solidifying their guy come roster cuts.
K Tyler Bass
Tyler Bass was on the money today against Cleveland, hitting on all of his four extra point attempts and nailing a 52-yard field goal. A good bounce back from Bass following a miss in the first week of the preseason, still shaking off the rust from being inactive all of last season.
Stock down
OT Jude Bowry
Rookie offensive tackle Jude Bowry started at right tackle for the Bills and struggled. Following a holding penalty in the first week of the preseason, Bowry struggled to hold his own which resulted in a sack of Kyle Allen. As a fourth round tackle selection, he needs to be more consistent against second-teams.
S Geno Stone
Geno Stone started for the Bills on defense alongside Damar Hamlin and did not seem to make any big plays. Following a touchdown he allowed in the first week of the preseason, Stone’s not a solidified depth piece for Buffalo, as rookie Jalon Kilgore can step up and take his spot.
